The 5 Best Chocolate Shops for Valentine’s Day
Tis the season of CHOCOLATE. Now traditionally I’m not a huge fan of chocolate unless it’s of the best quality and face it, you usually don’t get quality chocolate throughout the year unless you really go looking for it. I wouldn’t say I’m a chocolate snob, but I just wasn’t the kid or woman who thought chocolate was the bees knees until I tasted chocolate made by a chocolatier. Reminds me of a mouseketeer, but cooler. Haha
24 of the Best Items to Wear on Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it the way January is just flying by. Now, I don’t usually get hyped up for Valentine’s Day because I think everyone should do nice things for the people they love all year long. But when I started thinking about what Valentine’s means, I concluded that for me it means putting your heart in a state of love and giving. So I’m going to love on myself this Valentine’s Day and the people around me.
The 6 Best Jazz Clubs for Valentine’s Day
Atlanta has been keeping its Jazz traditions since they had the Chitlin Circuit. The Chitlin Circuit was a network of dive bars and other venues across the country that allowed black musicians to perform in the early 1930s through the 1960s. Dee’s Birdcage was probably the earliest official jazz club in Atlanta and it was open from the 1950s to the 1980s.
19 Valentine’s Day Nail Ideas with Press Ons
These are not your Grandma’s or your Mama’s press on nails. Boy, have they come a long way. I used to look at them with disdain, because they never looked real, they would always pop off and it always seemed like a cop out to getting your nails done.
My Trip to Asia Part 4 – Japan
As you can imagine, this whole trip was epic. We spent a few days in Hong Kong and then headed to Japan. In this post, we’re headed into the last few days of the trip in Japan.
The 5 Steps to Creating an Epically Awesome Vision Board for 2024
I always make a list of Goals for the coming year and I did one this year, but I decided to do a Vision Board also. I love to make collages and I’ve done modge podge on various items with magazine tear outs, so I thought this would be a good project for me. The first thing I did, of course, was search for ideas on Pinterest. It seems I use Pinterest for everything nowadays.
My Renovation Journey – Part 5
Better late than never, but I’m back with Part 5 of my renovation journey. I hope everybody had a wonderful holiday season. Mine was a little more relaxed than years previously, which I was totally shooting for.
If you’ve missed any of my renovation journey, here is everything to get you up to date…
My Trip to Asia Part 3 – Japan
I have been to Asia twice in my life and I thoroughly enjoyed it both times. When I graduated from college I went to Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. It was one of the best trips of my life and when I had the chance to go to Japan, I jumped on it. At the last minute, the travel agency said that we could add Hong Kong to the itinerary and I was even more excited. Hong Kong reminds me so much of New York City and Japan was on my bucket list.
The Top 2024 Design Styles
Style is deeply personal and I’m a firm believer that if you love it, it’ll always be in style. That’s why I’m so glad that the design world is coming around to that feeling. It seems like every style is a mixture of different styles and there’s absolutely something for everybody and you can mix and match to come up with something completely unique. With that said, the trends that the forecasters are saying will be in are really nothing new. They are just updated and modernized a little. It was very interesting to dive into how these styles have either “come back” or morphed into something for the current times.
2024 Interior Design Trends – Part 2
Welcome to Part 2 of the 2024 Interior Design Trends. If you missed Part 1 you can catch it here. I intentionally split the two blog posts into a more Neutral Palette in Part 1 and Part 2 is more about colorful and over the top trends. So, there’s something for everyone. But like I always say, take these trends with a grain of salt and do you boo. Do what makes you feel good about your home and surroundings.
