What it’s all about

Leslie Karen is a blog dedicated to women who are forever curious, passionate and don’t believe in limits. I love DIY’ing and trying to figure out how to do things, traveling, designing interiors, finding good restaurants, fashion and reading. Basically just about anything creative and artistic. I spent all of my adult years in the finance/marketing world professionally (except for two stints in the nightclub and restaurant business), but always loved the creative arts.

I want women to feel their most beautiful, creative, passionate, adventurous and self-loved. Leslie Karen is all about showing women how they can re-imagine their lives.

I get so excited interacting with creative and artistic people. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it’s never failed anybody. Each week I will take you with me as I explore all things. I invite you along on this exciting journey with me and we’ll figure it out together.

We will explore Creative Design together:

  • Creatively Design your Home

  • Creatively Design your Work

  • Creatively Design your Relationship

  • Creatively Design your Life

Fun Facts

  • I looooove Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups but only after they’ve been refrigerated.
  • My first car was an orange Volkswagen Beetle with a broken gas gauge and I only ran out of gas once…haha
  • My favorite artist of all time is Prince…..do not challenge me on this!
  • I prefer mountains/lakes over beaches/oceans
  • Ever since I was a little girl I’ve had a corn cob phobia so I always cut my corn off the cob.

I am based in Atlanta, GA and live in a fixer-upper with my rescue pit mix dog, Domi, who I’m obsessed with.

Designer & Diy’er pumped up on caffeine and willing to create anything. I want to let women know they can do it and if they don’t want to, I will.

The Ultimate List of Antique Fairs and Markets in the U.S. – Part 1

If you’re like me and you love thrifting and vintage shopping, raise your hand? I have two hands up because I love it that much. There’s something about seeing a piece of furniture, a collectible, or what might be considered “junk” from another era. It makes my heart go pitter-patter. Since Spring has sprung, with the weather warming up, it’s time to head out to some of the outdoor/indoor markets around the country. Seriously, several of these have been on my bucket list for the longest and some I hadn’t even heard of but I now want to go.

The 25 Best Easter & Spring Nails

Spring has entered the chat. The birds are chirping, pollen is plotting against us, and suddenly we all want nails that look like a pastel candy aisle exploded in the best possible way. Easter and Spring nails are not about subtlety — they’re about optimism, color, and a tiny bit of chaos… but curated chaos. Obviously.

The Conclusion of Women’s History and National Craft Month – Women Who Are Changing the Game

Being a multi-hyphenate can sometimes make you feel all over the place, but for those of you who know, it can also be a blessing. As I was putting this month’s blog posts together, I noticed that all of these women started off doing many different things with their hands, like crochet, knitting, sewing, quilting, etc. I’m convinced that when you work with your hands, you can do many crafts or arts. Beauty is in making things or at least that’s how I feel.
