One Room Challenge Week #2 Spring 2024

DIY, Home Styling, Interior Design

This past week was a whirlwind of activities.  As you will see below, all I had time for was painting the ceiling, looking for fabric and looking for a rug online. If you want to see my Week 1 post, here it is: ORC Week 1. I got so far behind but I do have an update on my primary bedroom. Please follow along with me and the other participants at One Room Challenge Spring 2024.

I started the week searching for the perfect paint color. I knew I wanted a very dark green with a blue undertone so I decided on Sherwin Williams Westhaven. After I got the paint, I picked up some supplies from Home Depot.

I started off getting the walls ready by vacuuming the corners to get all of the cobwebs off and taking the pictures off the wall. Then I put plastic drop cloths on the furniture and got to painting. I started off with the ceiling. I had an extender for my paint roller, so it wasn’t as strenuous as it sounds.

I know I’m going to love this color once I get the second coat on.

I pooped out when I finished the ceiling, so I’ll finish up this next week.

I love these paint cans with the screw off tops.

I went to my favorite upholstery fabric store to get samples for my headboard, my loveseat and pillows. As you can tell, I went a little crazy.

I have two rugs that I’ve had my eye on, but I don’t want to pull the trigger yet until I finish painting the room and figuring out the upholstery projects.

I promised myself I would do better next week since I have a schedule I’m trying my best to stick to. Has anyone ever done the One Room Challenge and did you have trouble sticking to your schedule?

See ya next time.
