My Renovation Journey – Part 2
This is the continuation of my reno journey. After finishing the outside of the house, I was itching to get into the house and do something so I decided to tackle the guest room. There really wasn’t much to do in here but, as you can see, it was extremely dark like the rest of the house and the ceiling had some sort of texture on it.
Fall 2023 Décor & Fashion Trends – Part 1
Fall is coming and I’m so happy. The crisp air, fall festivals, football season, fire pits with s’mores, sweater weather, the September issue of Vogue; need I say more? I could go on and on. Fall is EVERYTHING to me. I especially love looking at what’s trending in the world of design and fashion.
DIY an Old File Cabinet
When I saw this file cabinet, I started laughing because when I tried to move it, the top just disintegrated from all of the rain. It was some sort of particle board. I knew I could make a top for it and do something unique with the whole thing. What it was going to be, I didn’t know but I had faith. If you didn’t see the post with all of the DIY’s I found on the side of the road or in dumpsters, please see it here. The first makeover was an old ottoman. This is the second in the series of makeovers.

15 of the Coolest Places to Go on a Date
Ah, Date Night. It’s simultaneously scary and exciting. If you’re like me, it’s exhausting thinking about dating and getting through that initial phase of getting to know someone, but when you do then there’s the problem of what should you do on a date?
Checkerboard is Definitely a Thing
I thought I didn’t like checkerboard or rather it wasn’t a pattern I thought of when getting inspiration for interior design or decor. I always saw checkerboard as only being black and white and on floors and for me personally that was too stark. I’m not really a high contrast person, but as I was looking through Pinterest, I kept seeing checkerboard in different colors and different applications and I thought, hey, this could be interesting.

Too Cool for School Stools
I don’t think any piece of furniture is more versatile than the stool. Stools, you might say? Well yes, a lowly stool. Stools are, in my opinion, the workhouse of the house because you can move them around and use them for seating, put a tray on them and they can become a side table, put two together to become a coffee table and you can even put your feet up on an upholstered one and it becomes an ottoman. They’re also a space saving tool because you can tuck them in a corner or under a console table if you don’t need them
