African American Designers don’t often get their flowers and I wanted to take this time in the middle of Black History Month to salute them and their achievements. These are my favorites and I know there are many more, but I’ve broken up my list into Part 1 and Part 2. 23 Striking Examples of Bold Statement Stones in Interior Design
In recent years, there has been a resurgence of marble with bold patterns, striking veins, interesting textures and vivid colors. People want to make a statement, lending an air of luxury to their space. Marble has always been in style but now designers and customers alike are taking the stone up the backsplashes in the kitchen, using it in bathrooms in unexpected ways and even in furniture and decorative items.
Reupholstering an Old Beat up Chair
A while back, I found this chair on the side of the road on one of my dog walks. That’s where I usually see stuff that I could use, then when I get back home, I get my car, ride back and pick it up. I have a blog post called “Ain’t Too Proud to Dumpster Dive” where I show you a few items I have found that I’m attempting to give a makeover to and this is the third item. The first one was a waterlogged ottoman that had been out in the rain for days and the second one was an old file cabinet with no top.
Designer & Diy’er pumped up on caffeine and willing to create anything. I want to let women know they can do it and if they don’t want to, I will.
