Reupholstering an Old Beat up Chair
A while back, I found this chair on the side of the road on one of my dog walks. That’s where I usually see stuff that I could use, then when I get back home, I get my car, ride back and pick it up. I have a blog post called “Ain’t Too Proud to Dumpster Dive” where I show you a few items I have found that I’m attempting to give a makeover to and this is the third item. The first one was a waterlogged ottoman that had been out in the rain for days and the second one was an old file cabinet with no top.
Red is Trending for Valentine’s Day and Beyond – It’s Impact on Fashion and Interiors
In the ever-evolving world of design, the color trends for 2024 have taken a bold turn, with red emerging as the standout hue capturing the attention of both fashion and interior enthusiasts. Traditionally associated with love, passion, and festive occasions like Valentine’s Day and Christmas, red has transcended its seasonal connotations to become a year-round statement color. In this blog post, we will explore the diverse shades of red that are dominating the design landscape, how they are seamlessly blending into both fashion and interior spaces, and why red is no longer confined to specific holidays. The richness and depth of red hues make them adaptable to any season, effortlessly transitioning from the warm tones of spring and summer to the coziness of fall and winter.
In Honor of Black History Month – Artist Bisa Butler
I’ve been obsessed with Ms. Bisa Butler from the moment I first saw her art and it is “ART” with all caps. So colorful, so intricate, so powerful and moving. Some people refer to them as quilts, but she takes the original art form of quilting and lifts it up an infinite number of notches. I’d never seen anything like it and in honor of Black History Month, I wanted to pay tribute to this incredible artist.
Designer & Diy’er pumped up on caffeine and willing to create anything. I want to let women know they can do it and if they don’t want to, I will.
