Fall is in the air and I’m so excited. All of my favorite things happen in the Fall; sweaters, football, fall festivals, fire pits and watching the leaves change in the mountains. And as the leaves start to turn and the air gets a little crisper, the fashion world heats up with a fresh array of trends for Fall 2024.

This season, fashion designers are pulling from nature’s palette, the wild west, a glass of red wine and even a hint of the animal kingdom. Whether you’re looking to make a bold statement or subtly blend into your surroundings, there’s a trend for you. Let’s dive into the top four fashion trends you’ll want to incorporate into your wardrobe: Mossy Greens, Western Wear, Deep Reds and Leopard Print.

Mossy Green

I really think that green is the new blue although blue will never ever go out of style. For the last several years, green has really been in the forefront of fashion and interiors. As environmental concerns continue to grow, fashion is responding with a shift towards more natural, sustainable choices. Mossy green represents our collective yearning for calm and connection with the world around us. It’s a color that reminds us to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the beauty of nature.

Earth tones have always had a place in fall fashion, but this year, mossy green is the star. Inspired by lush landscapes and a growing awareness of sustainability, this color trend reflects our collective desire to reconnect with nature. It’s the perfect blend of subtlety and sophistication. From oversized knit sweaters to tailored trousers, this earthy hue is everywhere this season. It pairs beautifully with neutrals and can be dressed up or down, making it a versatile addition to any wardrobe.

Moss runs the gamut from a cool green to yellow-tinged, to dark green with flecks of brown. This dress by Del Core is cooly sophisticated with it’s one shoulder missing and paired with a lighter green bag.

And Balmain does it again. This stunning green dress makes a statement and the powder pink suede platform shoes take it to the next level. The model is gorgeous too.

Socks and heels are still trending and I’m still here for it. I love these crocodile skin heels and the perfectly matched socks is how you do it the right way.

Ermanno Scervino warmed up the moss green a little with this leather ensemble. I also like it’s all one color down to the boots and bag.

Dries van Noten is my man and he never disappoints me. This furry clutch is the perfect accessory for this look.

I love a unique shoe and these are stellar. Just look at the square toe with the chrome outline. Bangin’.

Alberta Ferretti has been on a roll these last few seasons. Check out this beautiful seamed and pleated dress in this beautiful mossy green color.

Another Alberta Ferretti and this model is looking like a boss in this outfit. This is how I would like to dress if I lived in a colder climate.

Moving into a darker moss, almost brown, Burberry is known for its outerwear and this coat has all the details to make it special and one of a kind.

Another boss outfit from Schiaparelli. I love these sleeves, don’t you?

Western Wear

Yippee Ki Yay Cowboys and Cowgirls. This season’s Western wear is all about combining comfort with style. Think cowboy boots, fringe jackets, denim-on-denim, and wide-brimmed hats, but with a sleek, urban edge. This trend is as versatile as it is iconic and it speaks to a growing number of people taking up farming and raising chickens in the suburbs and some even moving out to the country..

Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter persona, her country album and the TV show Yellowstone has certainly helped this trend, but western wear has been slowly creeping back into the fashion spotlight over the past few years. This Fall is when it truly takes center stage. Inspired by the rugged, independent spirit of the American West, designers are giving this trend a modern twist, blending traditional elements with contemporary flair.

In times of uncertainty, there’s something comforting about the rugged, durable aesthetic of Western wear. It speaks to a desire for authenticity, resilience, and a connection to simpler times. As we navigate the complexities of modern life, this trend offers a fashionable escape into a world where the rules are straightforward and the style is timeless.

Pharell’s Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall 2024 Fashion Show had cowboy, Americana chic all over it. Including a sprinkling of female models with a big sky Montana background, this show was spectacular and had all the people cheering. Pharell is really doing his thing with LV as evidenced by this denim on denim look.

Head to toe Western wear never looked this chic. I especially like the ruffled shirt which is a little “Little House on the Prairie” but with a modern twist.

Who wouldn’t want a Louis Vuitton cowboy hat?

Schiaparelli’s Canadian Tuxedo is a fun look and is really relatable and easy to recreate. I thought the braided blonde necktie was a fun touch too.

How about some red bottom cowboy boots?

Fringe was all over the runway and I mean ALL OVER THE RUNWAY! Check out this skirt set from Elie Saab. Very demure and mindful. LOL

Stella McCartney really represents the powerful woman who commands attention when she enters the room. This fringed black leather jacket is badass.

Isabel Marant is still doing her thang. This beautiful suede fringed bag has me SHOOK.

Ralph Lauren is the master of the Americana look and everybody should bow down to him, literally. They stayed true to his brand with this brown head to toe look.

This is definitely a nod to the female gunslinger. Do not meet her at sundown.

Deep Reds

Red has always been a symbol of power, passion, and confidence and the fashion industry has been embracing it all year. From the runways of New York to the streets of Paris, red is dominating the scene. It all started with a few key designers wanting to evoke the intensity and warmth that we’ve all been craving after a few muted seasons.

This fall, red is still going strong but it is also going cooler, deeper and darker; it’s a mood. Think rich burgundy, merlot, dark cherry, oxblood or any kind of red wine and you’ve got it. We’re seeing it in everything from head-to-toe monochrome outfits to statement accessories.

In a world that’s been yearning for a comeback, red is the perfect hue to signal rebirth and resilience. As society moves forward, we’re all looking for ways to stand out, and what better way than with a color that demands attention?

This beautiful muted red from Ferragamo is the perfect mixture of look but don’t touch sophistication.

As always, Bottega Veneta is a trendsetter and look how they mixed this edgy scarf with a stunning suit.

Stella is in top form with this fabulous red look.

Accessories like these oversized acrylic bangles will add a little somethin’ somethin’ to any look; even jeans.

Deep wine red from Hermes is the sexiest and most mysterious color. In fact, take a look at their whole damn show and you’ll thank me later.

The Wild Side

Animal Print will never go out of style as far as I’m concerned, but this year there’s a focus on just leopard prints. Tagwalk reported that there was 75% more leopard print in the Fall/Winter 2024 shows than 2023. So it seems like everybody’s getting their leopard on this Fall. Leopard print is the ultimate comeback kid of fashion. It’s been a staple in wardrobes since the 1960s, then in the 90’s within the grunge look and it’s always reemerging with a twist.

This season’s leopard print is less about blending in and more about standing out. Designers are playing with scale, colors, and textures, making this print more versatile than ever. From oversized leopard coats to delicate printed scarves, there’s a way for everyone to unleash their inner wildcat. As we navigate a world that’s increasingly unpredictable, there’s a growing desire to reconnect with our primal instincts. Leopard print offers a sense of empowerment and adventure, encouraging us to embrace our wild side, both in fashion and in life.

This is my absolute favorite look and it’s from Zimmermann. When I saw this picture, I actually had to catch my breath. First, the blouse is stunning and wide leg denim pants give it the perfect nonchalance that it needs. I would wear this in a heartbeat.

From one of the best in American fashion, Michael Kors is giving us a statement coat that is making a statement in leopard. This would literally go with anything.

I feel like Christian Dior was one of the labels that started the leopard trend back in the 60’s, so they’re just reminding everybody who they are with this belted trench.

Ester Manas really did it with this leopard dress. The colors, the ruffles, the model. This is a killer look.

Leave it to Alexander McQueen to make a leopard fur skirt. But somehow it works like it always does.
