Ah, spring and summer—the seasons of sunshine, rosé, and the eternal struggle of looking effortlessly chic while sweating profusely. Lucky for us, fashion’s latest trends are here to either elevate our wardrobes or make us question every life choice. This year, the style gods have spoken, and the holy trinity of Sheer, The Color White, and Fringe reigns supreme.

This is part two of my seasonal fashion trend series and if you missed Part 1, what are you doing with your life? Here’s the link so you can check it out:

The Biggest Spring and Summer Fashion Trends – Part 1

Whether you’re channeling “mysterious but make it see-through,” risking a full-blown coffee catastrophe in head-to-toe white, or totally committed to fashion that moves, these trends are here to keep things interesting. Let’s break them down, shall we?

The Sheer Nerve!

As soon as I saw this trend, I was like, oh no!!! Nobody over a certain age could ever partake in this trend, but as I let it all sink in, I had to readjust my thinking just a little. It CAN be versatile. Sheer clothing took center stage on the runways and it was reimagined by several designers this season. It was sexy, sensual and strategic. Not the usual overexposure that I usually associate with see through clothing.

By experimenting with contrasting textures, you can make it totally modern and fresh. The key, to me, is to master creative layering like pairing a sheer blouse with a tank top underneath or adding a mini skirt beneath sheer skirt. This is so you can avoid having a peek-a-boo moment. But hey, if you don’t mind, it don’t matter.

All White

So if you love wearing white, this will be the trend for you. I’m personally too clumsy to wear all white, but I love the look. Nearly every designer that showed included at least a few clean, stark, head-to-toe white looks in their collections but they managed to make it look warm and not cold.

While simple, there’s always been something fresh and chic about dressing in all white. It makes you have a certain nonchalance that can only come by not being afraid of spilling food or drinks and I admire that in a person. Because I know I would spill something before I even left the house. The good news is that everybody can wear this trend and you probably have pieces in your wardrobe already.

On the Fringe

I think fringe has a hypnotic and magical effect. There’s something mesmerizing about clothes that move on their own and fringe has been around since the days of flappers. It’s so dynamic and full of life and several designers were showing it either dressed up or down.

The difference this season is that the fringe is a little more funky and different. From looped fringe, to fringe that looks like tape or tinsel and long strips of fringe, they all had a playfulness to them that drew me in. You could simply accessorize your outfit with a fringed bag or you could go all out to make a statement.

So there you have it—spring and summer 2025’s hottest trends in all their impractical yet fabulous glory. Sheer pieces promise a season of strategic layering (or an open invitation to your local fashion police), fringe is making everything feel a little extra (because who doesn’t want to look like a walking party?), and white is back to remind us all why stain remover exists.

Whether you go all in or just dip a toe into the trend pool, one thing’s for sure—fashion is here to keep us on our toes, preferably in a killer pair of sandals.

See ya next time.
