Pastels Are All The Rage

It’s that time of the year when I look at the trends in fashion for the Spring and Summer and see what’s what. This year is all about the pastels and I had to break the blog post into two parts because the pastels were so much! All the colors in an easter egg basket from butter yellow to baby pink, baby blue, mint green and pale peach were represented at all of the runways. I found it hard to find a designer who did not buy into this trend. But it’s not your Grandma’s or a child’s pastels; it’s surprisingly modern and chic.

So if you love pastels, there is something for you in every color and it’s not just beautiful, but also easy to style. The beauty of this palette is that the pastel colors go well together.

Butter Yellow

This color has been trending for a few seasons now and it’s so appropriate for this Spring and Easter coming up. It’s a happy color but it’s paler and not so in your face. I’m not usually a yellow person, but I’m into this.

Baby Pink

Many designers showed the light calming shade of baby pink in a lot of satin, tulle and organza. Pink has come around from the Barbie pink of a few years back. Now, the shade is on the powdery side and a more modern take on pink.

So how do you feel about pastels, huh? Even if you only want to dip your toes into this trim, there’s nail polish and countless accessories to ease your way into it. I think I’m changing my mind about them especially in the clean modern looks this season. I hope you’ll try them because I sure will and I promise you won’t look like an easter basket.

Part 2 will be coming up soon and we’ll be exploring Sheers, Whites/Creams and Fringe so stay tuned.

See ya next time.
