Target has been so good for several years now. It’s not the Target of my childhood which was much more in line with Walmart. They’ve made so many strides forward in fashion and especially in design. In pairing up with famous designers for capsule collections to carrying whole lines of products from “of the moment” tastemakers, Target has really come into its own and I can honestly say they’re in a lane all their own.
My three favorite home lines are Opalhouse with Justina Blakeney, Hearth & Hand with Magnolia and Threshold with McGee & Co. They each have their own distinct point of view and between the three of them, people can find something in line with their own decor style or can even mix and match to come up with a totally different style.
If you didn’t see my blog post on Fall 2024 Interior Design Trends Part 1, you’ll see that dark reds and mossy greens are trending hard so please check it out and notice how each of these design collections have used one or both of these trends.
Opalhouse with Jungalow
Bow down to the Queen. I just love Justina Blakeney, don’t you? She almost single handedly ushered in the boho chic trend with lush plants, pastel colors and the fringed aesthetic. Even though I’m not exactly boho, I can appreciate her sensibility, use of textures and handmade items. And who was thinking about macrame before she started using it in her designs? I give her all the credit for making it accessible too.
Target has an exclusive line with her called Opalhouse, designed with Jungalow if you didn’t already know. It’s colorful and funky just like her. I’ve listed just a few of my favorites. If you’re boho chic, this will be right up your alley.
A mossy green velvet curtain panel with fringe. Enough said.
Brass with punched hole finials takes these curtain rods to the next level.
I love this shower curtain. It’s giving me hand-stamped artisanal vibes.
Velvet pull apart velvet poufs on wheels? I didn’t know I needed this until I saw it.
I’ve seen this marigold color all over the place this fall as an accent and when you add the “bungalow” fringe, it’s perfection.
Peel and stick wallpaper in the perfect teal color would be lovely on an accent wall or why don’t you paper your whole powder room? It would be stunning.
A swivel cream velvet chair with fringe. Love it!
Another light green chair that swivels. I can’t say enough about swiveling chairs. So versatile.
To add a pop of color to your bathrooms, this 5pk of towels also includes a cream and black one. So cute!
Marigold again in this oversized mid-century mod looking floor lamp. When I first saw it I thought it was a table lamp but it’s almost 6’ fall (58”).
Hearth & Hand with Magnolia
Raise your hand if you love Chip and Joanna. I’m holding my hand up right now. The Modern Farmhouse look wasn’t even a thing before they came on the scene. Joanna made a whole new trend or at least in my view she did. She somehow mixed industrial with farmhouse touches to come up with her own decor style that resonated with so many in this country.
So, I couldn’t do Fall Arrivals at Target without talking about Hearth & Hand. This was a natural progression for Joanna to come up with a line of accessible household items. Here are the ones that caught my eye for Fall.
Their Cozy Fall Decor Collection starts off with this plaid throw in mossy greens.
Try plaid this Fall, like in this fun pillow with the brown piping.
This pedestal table is so beautiful and would look great in a foyer or entryway with a gigantic floral centerpiece and some coffee table books on it.
Vintage gold frames make this landscape not your typical landscape. A trending design style this Fall is the Vintage Aesthetic and I wrote about it in Fall 2024 Interior Design Trends Part 2.
If you’re a candle lover and love design, like me, this candle snuffer is beautiful as well as functional.
Why not try marigold in a wreath? It would add a nice pop of color to your front door.
This is a beautiful set of ceramic containers and could be used for literally anything.
I’m always looking for fall arrangements and this rust colored silver dollar arrangement is a no brainer. Just buy it, place it and you have a little piece of Fall.
I love the rounded corners on this wooden mirror. So organic, but sophisticated.
Threshold with Studio McGee
I’ve been following Shea and Syd McGee for a few years now and their show Dream Home Makeover on Netflix is one of my favorite design shows. Against the beautiful mountainous backdrop of Utah, she takes us on a journey of her design process with every client. Her transitional style (contemporary & traditional) takes it up a notch every time.
Even though she mostly works in neutrals and muted tones, it’s never boring. When she’s finished designing your home, it feels like a warm hug.
This year she admitted that she’s dipped her toes into a little darker palette. She didn’t go too far, but she’s has a few items in her Fall collection that’s decidedly darker in tone like this burgundy Fall arrangement.
Another item that’s unusual for her is this botanical print with a black background. I was so surprised when I saw this, but I like it.
Burgundy is hot this year and Shea gave a nod to it with this marble pumpkin.
She has also embraced the mossy green trend as evidenced in the oval pillow below.
This boucle chair in the trending mossy green, swivels! I absolutely love a good swivel chair, don’t you?
This marble 2-taper candle holder is so unique and special. You could put it anywhere with any color of tapers and it would make a statement.
If you put a cluster of these sweet plaid pillows on your sofa and add a throw, it would instantly turn it into a Fall extravaganza. And the fringe is so cute.
Here is the perfect throw for the aforementioned sofa with pillows. It would make it so cozy.
If you’ve ever heard of biophilic design, it’s probably the top trend in home interiors right now. It means to bring the outside in, go green and use sustainability in your home. Here is the recent blog post that details the trend. Fall 2024 Interior Design Trends Part 2 Your plant life does not have to be real to give you the serenity that plant life inspires. People are bringing potted trees into their homes like this one.
So, Justina, Joanna and Shea have done it again and given us beautiful Fall furniture and home decor collections. I’m always amazed at how Target has evolved over the years and it’s due to their ability to create partnerships with talented ladies like these and others. Let me know if you love Fall as much as I do and if you’re going to check out these collections at Target.
See ya next time.
