One of the best things about Fall, for me, is football. I remember growing up and watching football every Sunday with my dad and brothers. I guess I was indoctrinated into the sport at an early age and grew to love it. And I especially like football when it’s outside. I have memories of sitting outside when it’s freezing with blankets and hot chocolate. I have twin brothers and a son who played football starting in Little League and went all the way up through college. I was also a cheerleader and the best times were cheering for football games on Friday nights. Needless to say, I have a lot of experience in tailgating and throwing Superbowl parties or just on any given Sunday throwing a football party.
I’ve compiled a list of tailgating and house party essentials you will need to throw a killer party. I’ve even included some shirts that you can wear to celebrate the big game. Amazon October Prime days are coming up so please take a look at these deals and if you love football season as much as I do, then you won’t be able to resist.
Tailgating
Tailgating is so much fun and me and my friends tend to go all out. We get there early to get our spot, set up a tent, grill and go crazy. Here are some tailgating essentials you must have if you want to do it up like us or put your own spin on it.
The first thing I would recommend is some kind of a tent. This tent attaches to your car on one side and provides plenty of shelter from the elements. It also lets you go in and out of your trunk without getting wet if it’s raining.
Of course the next thing you’ll need is chairs. I used to have a ton of these when I would watch my son play sports in Little League, but inevitably I sell them in a garage sale whenever I’ve moved over the years. These come in two packs and includes a cup holder.
A table is a must have and this one is made of aluminum so it can withstand the heat of a grill. It folds up into it’s own carrying case with a handle. This is genius!
Here’s another table that can hold snacks, drinks and appetizers. It also folds up into its own carrying case.
I have a couple of these tables that I use as a craft table and to take with me to tailgates. As you can tell, I’m a sucker for folding tables.
These portable generators are a godsend. I don’t have one, but as soon as I saw this, I put it in my cart. You should too.
Heaters are a must when the really cold weather comes.
Here come the tabletop grills. This one is gas and handles turn into a stand.
If charcoal is your thing, this one by Weber is what I have and I love it.
This bag literally holds so much stuff. Whether you’re a guest or the host, use this bag to organize everything.
It’s like Capri Suns for adults. Do with it what you will. Wink, wink.
This portable trash can starts off flat as a pancake and pops up into a full trash can. Solves a lot of problems.
Football Parties at Home
Sometimes I just want to stay at home and watch the game. Whether you have a TV outside or you’re watching inside, there’s plenty of activities to turn it into a fabulous party. Plan activities for before, during half-time and after the game and people will be talking about it for years. Or maybe just until the next one.
On a nice Fall day and night, a fire pit is so nice and I’ve been a fan of them my whole life.
The only chair to have is an Adirondack. These can fold up and be put away if you want and it’s made out of a poly wood composite so you can leave them outside.
S’mores. Enough said.
You gotta have some drinks and this galvanized tub with a stand keeps people from having to bend over.
The Games We Play
These games can be taken to the tailgate or put in your backyard to make it extra special.
You’ve got to have a real pigskin football right?
Party Supplies
Here are some party supplies for tailgating or football parties at the house. Get your party on and really get into the spirit by carrying the theme of football throughout your decorations.
These platters are too cute.
This pack of two different tablecloths will really bring the theme to life.
Start off with these cute containers for appetizers.
I like this set because it has abstract plays on it and I’ve never seen this before.
How cool are these football plastic cups.
If you want to buy a whole set, get this one with the cute “flag on the play” napkins. This could be so much fun while watching the game.
Since the set above doesn’t come with plastic ware, here are some in a fun green color.
Game Day Slay
I always like to wear a fun shirt when I’m watching the game. Whether it’s my favorite team or a football related one, it’s always mandatory. Here are some cute shirts for the ladies and the guys to choose from.
Ladies
Men
I had so much fun putting this blog post together because, again, I love Fall and Football. Do you love it as much as I do. Let me know in the comments and I’ll talk to you soon.
