I can’t believe it’s almost Labor Day. It seems like this whole year is going by so fast. I was thinking about all of the end of season sales going on, but there’s still quite a bit of Summer left at least here in Georgia. If you didn’t get a chance to get your backyard set up, like me, I’ve compiled a list of what I think are the best items to have for Labor Day and going into the Fall season.
The first thing you need is a grill, whether it’s charcoal or gas. Check out these grills for all your barbecuing needs.
The sun is so hot even in September, so I’ve included these canopies to go over your grill. They’re also great for when it rains.
Seating is a must for a patio or deck. I believe you should have a few seating areas for entertaining and even for yourself. Sometimes you might want an intimate seating area just for two, a conversation area for several people and you might even want to lay down in a hammock. They are my personal favorites.
Who loves a good fire pit? I do. As soon as there’s a nip in the air, I’m down for s’mores. Whether it’s a tabletop fire pit or a full on pit with racks, they take me back to my childhood when I used to go camping and I’ve enjoyed them ever since.
If you have a fire pit, you also need adirondack chairs or maybe that’s the New England in me coming out. I stand by that statement though. You can get them in real wood or a poly lumber. They’re deceptively comfortable and just look so right in the backyard.
If you’re planning on a Labor Day barbecue, you need drinks right? Here are several ways to keep your drinks cold, including copper tubs, a fun red standing cooler and a couple of bar carts. Cheers.
Let the games begin. Some fun activities in the backyard will get your party started right. Croquet, frisbee and badminton will keep your friends and family occupied while the food is being prepared.
I don’t know about your neck of the woods, but it’s still pretty hot here and a good soaking pool will certainly cool things down. It won’t take up a lot of space and the splash pad for dogs and kids will never let them feel left out.
If you don’t feel like entertaining at home this Labor Day, why don’t you head out to a park? You can spread a blanket, bring some games and food and just relax. You don’t have to worry about cleaning your house and the grill afterwards. That’s absolutely no fun.
These fun picnic blankets come in a bag that makes it so convenient. They’re also water resistant too.
If you don’t want to lay on a blanket, these portable chairs are a good alternative and they have cup holders too, which is mandatory.
Roll these coolers to the park and you’ll be all set. They go from small to large and if you’re really living large, the granddaddy of them all is the YETI. It comes in a punchy green color!
If you’re feeling romantic, nothing tops a picnic. Pack a meal, some wine and lay out on your picnic blanket. I promise you, it’ll be one of those things that you’ll remember year after year.
After this comprehensive list, I think you’ll be able to have a great time this Labor Day and beyond.
If you try any of these or if you have any more ideas, let me know in the comments.
See ya next time.
