Summer is officially here and I’m taking a look at all of the summer shoe trends. They are all flat, because I have a particular affinity for flat shoes and I’m so glad that they’re still in style. I have to say that TEXTURE is the word that describes the Summer of 2024. I have broken down trends into four categories and I’m sure there’s something for everybody. There’s certainly throwbacks with a twist and some new styles that I’m craving. Sit back and enjoy.
Woven
Woven shoes are big this year, from woven leather, crochet and macrame looks. It’s great if you have a Bohemian style, but as you will see below, a lot of them can work with any style of fashion.
These are from Zara who always kills it in terms of hitting all of the trends. These are almost ballerina-like but with a higher rise on the top of the foot. So cool.
These woven black slingbacks, also from Zara, are so elegant and will go with almost everything.
Mango has these beautiful woven ankle strap shoes in the color red, that’s been trending since last Fall.
Woven two strap flatbed shoes are so comfortable looking and can easily be adjusted if you have wide feet, which I appreciate.
Who would have thought that the Vermont Country Store would have these huaraches in this beautiful blue color? I have a special place in my heart for huaraches. My Mom used to buy these sandals for me and she even kept a pair of mine when I was a toddler.

These almost look like a cross between macrame and crochet and are super cute.

Mesh
Mesh was all over the runways for the Summer of 2024. I’ve seen plain mesh and even embellished mesh. They look so delicate on your feet but with a killer pedicure, it can look very edgy.
J Crew was known for having great ballerina shoes back in the day and this cream mesh pair are taking them up another notch.
In orange, these mesh shoes from Mango are a sporty take on the mesh shoe trend. Love.
Seems like Mango has the Mesh game on lock. Check out these green mesh embellished mules. I want them right now.
These delicate silver mesh ballerinas would look so good with red toenail polish peeking out wouldn’t they?
I just love ballerina shoes with the higher top and these from Tnuck are edgy even with the little bow.
Another pair of fun mesh mules with embroidery.
Fisherman
Fisherman sandals are another throwback from my childhood but now they’re in all colors and with all different kinds of soles.
These are pretty class fisherman sandals in black and so elegant.
Now we’re talking. Silver, which is still trending, take these to a whole different level.
Jelly shoes and fisherman sandals? Yes please. Run and get these before they sell out; for real. They always sell out and then you have to wait for them to restock.
Fisherman mules from Sam Edelman in a classic brown leather are both traditional and cool.
Don’t sleep on Etsy as I keep telling everybody. These cream colored fisherman have a different weave and are very striking.
This olive green pair from Fred Salvador is definitely my spirit animal. Green is my favorite color and the studs make these so unique.
Rope / Cord
Rope or Cording sandals were all over the runway usually paired with sporty ensembles but they can equally go with dresses or more elegant looks. From para cord to rope, I love this trend.
These sandals from Miu Miu went viral but you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars to get this look.
This pair from Xero Shoes is very similar to Miu Miu, but without the hefty price tag.
Havaianas are a go-to for the summer and this pair in pink and orange give you that rope look.
Red wine colors are still trending and this burgundy pair from Bohonomad are definitely on my wish list.
Teva does it again with this corded sandal in baby blue.
Mango has their version of a paracord sandal that’s so cute.
These slides from Kelsi Dagger look so much like real rope don’t they?
Last but not least, Zara does it again with this multi-corded and multi-colored pair.
Let me know in the comments what you think about this summer’s shoe trends and if you have your eye on any of them. I like that a lot of them are just a twist on a familiar shoe. What do you think?
See ya next time.
