Every summer, nail trends arrive like an overly enthusiastic guest at a pool party. Some stay too long, some make a mess, and some become the life of the party. This year, two trends are absolutely on my radar: Watercolor and Polka Dot Nails.

Now, if you’ve been around here for a while, you know I don’t just see design trends in one category. My brain is basically a Pinterest board that got struck by lightning. When I see a fabulous nail design, I immediately start seeing wallpaper, upholstery, dresses, throw pillows, and accent chairs.

Which is exactly why I’ve paired each nail trend with matching home décor, fashion, and furniture inspiration. Is it practical? Maybe not. Is it hilarious? Absolutely.

Watercolor

Watercolor nails are soft, dreamy, artistic, and look like your nail technician accidentally dipped a paintbrush into a Monet painting. The colors blend effortlessly together creating a beautiful, fluid effect that’s perfect for summer.

Black & White

Who says watercolor has to be colorful?

Black and white watercolor nails feel modern, sophisticated, and just a little bit mysterious. They’re giving luxury hotel lobby. They’re giving designer handbags. They’re giving “I drink my coffee black and own matching luggage.”

These colors practically scream summer.
