One Room Challenge Week #1 Spring 2024 – The Beginning
So, I did a thing. I signed up for the One Room Challenge which is a design challenge where you pick one room in your house and you have eight weeks to make over the entire room. It can be a light makeover or a full on renovation; it’s up to you but it should be finished in eight weeks. Here is the link to the website; One Room Challenge. In Honor of Women’s History and National Craft Month – Women Who Are Changing the Game Part 2
Welcome to Part 2 of the Women’s History and National Craft Month blog post on women who are making waves in their respective crafts. If you missed Part 1, please read it here. Being a multi-hyphenate can sometimes make you feel all over the place, but for those of you who know, it can also be a blessing. As I was putting these two blog posts together, I noticed that all of these women started off doing many different things with their hands, like crochet, knitting, sewing, quilting, etc. I’m convinced that when you work with your hands, you can do many crafts or arts. Beauty is in making things or at least that’s how I feel.
In Honor of Women’s History and National Craft Month – Women Who Are Changing the Game Part 1
I’m late in the month for Women’s History Month and National Crafting Month so I’m killing two birds with one stone by doing a mashup of Women who Craft with Parts 1 and 2. I started my journey crafting when I was a little girl and even then I think I knew there was something soothing about working with my hands. Crochet was the first, with crocheting lap afghans with my grandmother while she watched her “stories” on television. After that was being taught how to sew and knit by my Mom and watching her make macrame wall hangings and purses. I didn’t learn macrame but I did inherit all of her ropes and cords and bag handles so I’m ready to start at any moment.
Designer & Diy’er pumped up on caffeine and willing to create anything. I want to let women know they can do it and if they don’t want to, I will.
