Spring is here, and you know what that means: pollen is everywhere, my head feels like it’s about to explode and if I rub my itchy eyes anymore, I’m not going to have any eyeballs. Maybe I should just get a yellow manicure so I can blend in. But I digress.

Ah, spring. That magical time of year when we collectively emerge from our winter gloom, blink at the sunshine like confused baby deer, and suddenly feel the urge to clean everything in sight. Flowers are popping up, the air smells fresh, and people everywhere are pretending they don’t still have a rogue Christmas decoration lurking in a corner somewhere.

Every once in a while, I stumble upon things that make me audibly gasp—like the internet just reached out, grabbed my soul, and whispered, “This is for you.” These finds aren’t always practical (or budget-friendly), but they fuel my creativity, get my wheels turning, and make me dream in high definition. I do a roundup of these items every month and bring them to you.

Ah, spring and summer—the seasons of sunshine, rosé, and the eternal struggle of looking effortlessly chic while sweating profusely. Lucky for us, fashion’s latest trends are here to either elevate our wardrobes or make us question every life choice. This year, the style gods have spoken, and the holy trinity of Sheer, The Color White, and Fringe reigns supreme.

It’s that time of the year when I look at the trends in fashion for the Spring and Summer and see what’s what. This year is all about the pastels and I had to break the blog post into two parts because the pastels were so much! All the colors in an easter egg basket from butter yellow to baby pink, baby blue, mint green and pale peach were represented at all of the runways. I found it hard to find a designer who did not buy into this trend. But it’s not your Grandma’s or a child’s pastels; it’s surprisingly modern and chic.

Ah, St. Patrick’s Day—the one day a year when it’s socially acceptable to drink green beer, pinch strangers, and dress like a walking shamrock. But beyond the parades, pub crawls, and questionable leprechaun costumes, St. Patrick’s Day is actually a fantastic excuse to rethink the color green in both fashion and interior design. Because let’s be honest—green is so much more than just a holiday gimmick or the shade of regret after one too many pints of Guinness.

March is National Crafting Month, which is so close to my heart and one of my favorite subjects to talk about. It means it’s time to grab your glue gun, flex your creative muscles, and fully embrace the chaos of crafting. As someone who loves a good hands-on project (and has personally experienced the heartbreak of an epic Pinterest fail), I figured this was the perfect time to clear up a common debate:

As this is the last blog post in my series for Black History Month, I’ve been reflecting on my journey as a Maker and Artist and how it took me almost all of my life to realize that I was indeed a Maker and Artist. I’d been taught all my life to be creative and am well versed in Crochet, Knitting, Sewing, Quilting, Macrame, Interior Design and other creative and DIY endeavors. But when it was time to actually pick a career, it didn’t even occur to me to pursue the Creative Arts.

The global fashion industry has been significantly enriched by the creativity and innovation of Black designers. From redefining luxury to infusing cultural narratives into contemporary fashion, these designers offer unique perspectives that resonate worldwide.

In this post, we spotlight six remarkable Black fashion designers—LaQuan Smith, Sergio Hudson, Theophilio, Tolu Coker, Frederick Anderson, and Diotima—exploring their origins and the inspirations behind their Spring/Summer 2025 collections.

African American Designers don’t often get their flowers and I wanted to take this time in the middle of Black History Month to salute them and their achievements. These are my favorites and I know there are many more, but I’ve listed my seven favorites.
