Flintstones, meet the Flintstones…I could sing this whole song from memory. This was one of my favorite shows when I was a young child so this design style really resonates with me. I know you’re saying “what the heck is Modern Flintstone and it isn’t a Design Style”, but hear me out. There’s definitely a certain aesthetic that’s trending now that made me think of what Fred’s house would look like in modern times. Lots of stone that makes you literally think of the Stone Age; mostly round and curvy shapes and pale or neutral colors. It’s like a combination of Modern Organic and Japandi with natural materials in the forefront. Also, I’ve rarely seen any electronics out in the open.
It’s not so much the furniture that makes this style, although there’s certain elements that have to be there, but the surfaces of the interior. Organic materials like stone, rock, clay, etc… cover the walls, floors and ceiling with lots of texture and curves. All materials that were used for building back in the Caveman Days. If you’re a fan of the Flintstones, you’ll remember that Fred worked at a quarry and his boss’ name was Mr. Granite. Is it sad that I remember everything about this show? I think it’s cute. Haha The furniture usually consists of curvy sofas and chairs.
This house in Cleveland is actually called the Flintstone House by the people in town. The owner prefers to call it the Cave House, but it’s definitely giving Stone Age vibes. Along with the cover picture, people are building houses or resorts with this look of stone.
This is the first picture that I pinned a few months ago and it immediately made me think of Bedrock with the window cutouts and the texture on the walls that make you think of a cave.

I love the stone stair steps along with all of the walls, floors and ceilings.
I can totally imagine Wilma and Betty having a cup of tea while they talk about the shenanigans of Pebbles and Bam Bam.
I love how the cement pendants set off the multiple curvy ceilings.

Take a look at this entryway below. Just stunning.
In this foyer, a few well placed bare branches and the clay surfaces will give you a touch of Modern Flintstone.
This mirror would definitely give you a taste of Modern Flintstone with its natural stone look on the frame. Cool, isn’t it?
Sprinkle a few touches of stone around like this vignette of a stone plate, candle holder and beads.
