The Most Epic List of Olympic “Metals” in Honor of the Olympic Medals
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been obsessed with the Summer Olympics this year. I’m usually obsessed, but this year took it to a whole nother level. Most people I know have felt the same way. There have been so many people on social media watching the Olympics, doing the routines and movements and I can safely say that we are all in.
Checkerboard is Definitely Still Trending in 2024
Checkerboard is still trending in 2024, even though naysayers keep being naysayers. Designers, including me, think that it’s a classic pattern that will certainly ebb and flow in and out of favor. But for now, it’s hot and really exciting. It’s being used in different applications like homeware, ceramic tiles and in artwork so I don’t see it going away in the foreseeable future.
18 Things That Are Giving Me Life Right Now
This series is shaping up to be one of my favorites. I love making lists of everything including grocery lists, to-do lists, Christmas lists and literally anything that could be made into a list. So what could be more fun than scouring the internet in search of things that “give me life”. These are things that almost take my breath away and make me take a second, third and sometimes a fourth look.
The 23 Travel Essentials You Need for Your Last Trip of the Summer
There’s still time for one more summer vacation or maybe a couple more mini vacations don’t you think? I’ve been thinking a lot about sneaking in a couple of trips before summer ends and what are the travel essentials that everyone needs to make every trip comfortable and with minimal stress. Because let’s face it, travel is stressful so why not be super comfortable, cute and have some helpful accessories when you’re traveling. The following list of items is what I’d consider essential for anyone’s trip.
It’s Leo Season!!!!
I’m so excited that it’s Leo Season. My family and friends are filled with Leos, so we get really hyped up during this time. I wouldn’t say I’m an astrology aficionado or that I think the personality traits of the signs are finite, but I would say that I believe the time of year, day or night that you were born can influence your thoughts and feelings. Also, whenever I read about my Leo personality, it sounds exactly like me and I do mean exactly. Even when it’s a toxic personality trait, I can read why and get some insights into why I might feel that way. So it’s the old question of nurture or nature. Nurture is your background and upbringing and nature would be astrology.
It’s Time to Revisit the Black House
I love black houses and black walls so much. I even have a whole board devoted to black walls on my Pintererst. What I love is that it can go glam, farmhouse, traditional, industrial, mid-century modern, rustic; just about any style would work. Also, greenery looks stunning up against a black background, so your landscaping will really pop.
The Haven Conference for Content Creators
For the second year in a row, I went to the Haven Conference in Atlanta. This conference is specifically for content creators in the DIY and Design space which includes artists and crafters also. They have numerous speakers and breakout sessions on every topic from affiliate links to email marketing to video editing and much much more. Last year, I was a newbie in terms of social media and was just working on my blog. This year I’m on Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook so I feel better equipped to really reap the benefits of all of the information I was going to receive this year.
Ain’t Too Proud to Dumpster Dive – The Little Chair Project
DIY is my jam, but it does take some time. The process can sometimes be tedious, but there’s nothing like seeing what’s in my head, actually come to fruition. This is part of a series called “Ain’t Too Proud to Dumpster Dive”. Since we don’t have a lot of dumpsters in Atlanta, most of my stuff is coming from the side of the road, but that doesn’t flow off the tongue like my title. Haha
The 4 Locations on My Bucket List this Summer
It’s summertime and the living is easy, unless you live in Atlanta with temperatures in the upper 90’s every…damn…day. With the humidity taking it over 100 degrees, I don’t even want to go outside anymore until September because it’s only going to get worse. If you know me at all, you know I don’t like heat one bit. It’s exhausting and just takes the energy out of me.

In the wild world of interior design, trends come and go like tumbleweeds on a dusty trail. But just when you think you’ve seen it all, along comes a style that defies convention and captures the imagination: Western Gothic.
