My Trip to Africa Part 1
I took a once in a lifetime trip to South Africa with my Mother pre-pandemic. It was on her bucket list to visit Africa and go on a safari. We went for 10 days and visited two cities so I decided to break this post up into four parts. We flew into Senegal and had a...
The House Beautiful Whole Home
House Beautiful had their fifth annual Showhouse and it was fabulous! I had never been to a Showhouse this beautiful before, but what did I expect?
Marcus Bar & Grille
A couple of weeks ago I had the honor and pleasure of attending a Friends and Family event at Marcus Samuelsson’s new restaurant in Atlanta called Marcus Bar & Grill. He was not open yet so he invited people in on 2 separate occasions before he opened so the kitchen could have some practice with different dinner services.
DIY Word Art
I was working on a project for a friend of mine who needed their open concept kitchen, dining room and living room decorated. She had furniture but no art or decorative accessories. I will be posting the pictures of the finished project soon. As always, I started with...
Bisa Butler – Fiber Artist
I’ve been obsessed with Ms. Bisa Butler from the moment I first saw her art and it is “ART” with all caps. So colorful, so intricate, so powerful and moving. Some people refer to them as quilts, but she takes the original art form of quilting and lifts it up an...
Valentine’s Day Nails
Valentine’s Day is upon us and I was seeing all these cool nail designs that are different than just painting your nails red. I’m not a big Valentine’s type of girl and I usually like pale colors on my nails but I thought, why not think about giving a nod to this...

DIY Woven Paper Art
I have a habit of saving magazines and it’s borderline hoarding. I always think I can use the pages for an infinite number of art projects. From making vision boards, to modge podging just about anything, to paper weaving. The latter I just discovered and thought, why not.
2023 Paint Colors of the Year
The Pantone Color Institute, the world’s authority on color, has picked an “it” color every year for two decades and 2023 is the year of Magenta. Well, apparently it’s back but it’s a more vivid version of it and not the pastel version we saw in the 80’s. It’s more like a 90’s bright fuchsia which partners with the current emphasis on 90’s fashion that’s going on right now.
DIY Wood Art
DIY’s are my jam. I get a kick out of doing something myself that I never thought I could do. I also have some projects that I know right off the bat that I could do and this was one of them. In my DIY world, I’ve had a lot of light bulb moments where I’ve taken nothing and made it into art, but I think this is my favorite one so far.
