This is Part 2 of the Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Magazine Holiday Home. If you haven’t seen Part 1 yet, you can see it here. This house gave me so many design ideas not only for the holidays but interior design lightbulb moments.
Everywhere you looked there were trees and presents. It made for a very festive home, which was the whole point. Haha I’ve long been a proponent of not just decorating your living room for the holidays. Try decorating every single room even if it’s just a bowl of ornaments. Trust me, it’ll lift your spirits so much.
Upstairs
As soon as I got to the landing upstairs there was a huge tree with, you guessed it, presents. There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
The first bedroom was set up as a nursery with another tree. The colors were very pale and serene.
I love the spindles on the crib and the print on the curtains.
The bathroom for the nursery had the same print on the valance as the curtains in the nursery.
The first guest room was light and bright with a beautiful upholstered headboard and flowery wallpaper. The acrylic chandelier was also very stunning.
The bathroom for this guest room had great tile in the shower and the art was the only pops of color in both rooms.
The second guest room had wallpaper that looked like different types of stained wood. Absolutely stunning. I also liked the way they hung the three pictures behind the bed asymmetrically.
This third moody guest room was done in a navy blue that was almost black. The wood night tables were a great contrast. This room felt very traditional but not in a stuffy way.
This bathroom was for the second and third guest rooms. I love the black zellige tiles on the wall. Zellige tile is a Moroccan glazed tile that is handmade and is very perfectly imperfect. I’m sure you’ve seen it everywhere because it’s trending but it’s been around for centuries. It was so stunning and the floor was to die for.
Heading down the hallway to the primary there was this cool graphic wallpaper on the ceiling and one wall was covered in blue velvet drapery and the other side was a limewash. One of my favorite ways to hang pictures is from chains on the ceiling.
Behind a door in this hallway there was this very colorful laundry room. Another tree and presents were included. The washer and dryer were hiding behind the funky fabric curtains.
Before getting to the primary suite, there was this very small room set up as an office.
When I entered this man’s closet, I almost swooned. I would totally love this for myself. Very manly but dramatic with the charcoal walls and ceiling.
A bar was also set up in this closet. Total man cave. I could see a man not wanting to leave; all he would need is a TV.
Another bar set-up, or a coffee station if you wanted, was between the man’s closet and the woman’s closet.
Here is the woman’s closet. It was very feminine and the lighting was great, but I still prefer the man’s closet.
We finally entered the primary bedroom which was a surprise because it was filled with light and had almost no color. If you look closely, you can see that there is a very dramatic barrel ceiling. Another tree with presents and tinsel. I feel like tinsel is making a comeback. I’m seeing it more and more.
The fireplace had a limestone face and you can see a writing desk in the corner. Even though the holiday decorations were just a wreath and garland, it still made an impact.
When I went around the corner to the primary bathroom, I couldn’t believe how big it was. Here is the makeup vanity on one side.
The shower was massive and had all the bells and whistles.
A stand alone tub in the middle of the room and check out the tile accent on the floor.
The vanity had a cream zellige tile behind it and a marble countertop with very pronounced veining which is very on trend now. I loved it.
I had to get a picture of this water closet. The wallpaper was everything. There was no need for art or anything else.
Basement
As you went down the stairs to the basement, it was like going into another world. This living room was very expansive.
The wine room took up the whole back wall of the living room and was really the first thing that caught my eye. It was behind black steel doors and the rods were copper. Very cool and definitely made a statement.
To the side of the living room was a lounge area. There was banquette seating at the back of the room, a shuffleboard table and a pool table. I could see all kind of fun parties down here.
In a small room around the corner, there was a golf game going on. I couldn’t take a picture because there were kids playing on it and they would not leave. I guess that’s a testament to how fun it was. This mural is such a great idea and you could totally use it for any sport. Basketball, baseball, football, etc.
A bar top with stools is another place for seating. Behind the shelves was actually a wallpaper made to look like stone.
There’s a bathroom downstairs with an industrial look to it that fits in with the whole vibe of the basement. There was an upholstered chair in there but I don’t know anybody who wants somebody sitting down next to them while they’re doing their business.
Another tree with presents and a champagne holder makes for a great party.
At the end of this tour, I had all kinds of things swirling around in my head. Since I’ve been going to these Holiday Homes, I’ve gotten so many great ideas for decorating. I love a tree in every room, but I’m not sure about the presents. Let me know in the comments if you decorate every room for the holidays.
See ya next time.
