This is my third year in a row going to the Holiday Home sponsored by Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Magazine and it didn’t disappoint. I have to break it down into two parts because the house was huge. Located in the Chastain Park area of Atlanta, we had to park at the horse park and get shuttled over to the house. It was raining while we were waiting and even with two shuttles it took over thirty minutes to finally get to the house. I would definitely recommend taking an Uber directly to the house the next time so you don’t have to wait. Even if it wasn’t raining, which was miserable, it’s no fun waiting.
The rain stopped by the time I got to the house and I was really looking forward to seeing all of the Christmas decorations as well as the designer rooms. I always get so many ideas that I never seem to follow through with, but it’s still fun to see how you can bring the holidays into every room. The most I’ve done is put a tree in my son’s room when he was growing up. So this house is truly aspirational.
As you entered the house you could see all the way out to the backyard which gave it a very open feel. There were a lot of wood touches on the ceiling and I knew I was in for a treat.
Also in the foyer was this sweet moment of garland and presents.
The powder room had the most beautiful marble vanity.
The kitchen was very different. There wasn’t an appliance to be seen in the whole room except for the stove. Very minimal.
Here’s a cute little breakfast room off to one side of the kitchen.
The butler’s pantry was very minimal like the kitchen.
The dining was surprisingly feminine with the chandelier being the standout.
There were so many Christmas trees throughout the house, as you’ll see, and I loved this one at the entrance to the living room with just white lights.
The living room with steel accordion doors leading outside.
An office tucked away in a corner. Very moody and elegant.
I love those masks on the wall. Very dramatic.
The main living area has a guest suite and this is the bathroom.
The guest room with a dramatic four poster bed. I love the curtains attached to the back.
The outdoor covered patio is very comfortable and has a fireplace which I love.
The pool area in the backyard.
There was a mudroom/pool bathroom located as you came out of the garage to the inside and there was also a door outside to the pool.
I thought this was the cutest portrait of a little girl.
Having a bathroom for your guests to use when they come out of the pool is so convenient.
There’s certainly more to see but I didn’t want this post to be too long. There were trees and presents everywhere you looked and beautiful holiday vignettes. It really was a feast for the eyes.
Stay tuned for Part 2. I will be showing you the upstairs and the basement area. There’s five more bedrooms!
See ya next time.
