If you’re new here, you might not know how I love to do a round up at the end of the month of things that “give me life”. These are beautiful designs, products, fashion and whatever I see on these internet streets, that make me stop in my tracks and catch my breath. If you know me and have seen these posts before, well then you know how I’m obsessed with pretty things and good design.

If you want to see some of my past posts, please look in the Lifestyle category of my site and you can see all of the goodies from last year.

Lighting

This year is starting off with lighting of course. Lighting is like the jewelry of a room and can be as understated or over the top as a good pair of earrings can be.

Since deep reds are all the rage this year, what could be more fitting than this artisanal ceramic pendant lamp in a maroon tone.

Makhnostudio – Maroon Ceramic Pendant Light

A white chain link pendant with brass? Sign me up.

Crosland and Demmons Cross-Chain Sculptural Light

This chandelier has a Moroccan silhouette but could easily fit into any Design Style and I especially love this shade of celadon green.

Mathmos is the original inventor of the lava lamp, first created in 1963, and their updated designs really caught my eye. Don’t call it a comeback.

Wallpaper

Next on my list is wallpaper, because wallpaper has been trending hard for a few years now and I believe it’s here to stay. There’s just so many options, from materials to designs to even creating your own. The sky’s the limit.

Right now I’m feeling wallpaper made out of natural materials and although it comes in various shades, this bamboo paper is particularly gorgeous in this aqua shade. The paper on the cover of this post is made out of bark, proving you can be eco-friendly even in your wallpaper.

Etoffe – Kaleido Bamboo Aqua Wallpaper

Make a statement in this large scale abstract floral wallcovering. You almost don’t need anything else in the room.

Belarte Studio – Burgundy Multi-Color Wallpaper

Textured snakeskin wallpaper is edgy and makes quite the statement.

Etsy – Decorance Wallpaper

Make a Statement

I’m all for things that make a big statement, whether it’s a statement lamp, door, potted tree, or even a vignette. That one thing in a house that draws your eye and makes you wonder and feel something.

A kitchen “look” that I totally approve of. This makes a statement just with the knives, but throw in shelves for cookbooks and all white plates and it’s chefs kiss literally. Even the marble background and unique brackets make a statement.

A patchwork oversized patinated brass door? I can’t hardly contain myself.

Aluminr – Brass Door

When I first saw this, I said “wait, what?” I don’t know what kind of stone this is, but my heart was beating so fast that I had to get up and walk away and then come back and look at it again.

Tile

Tile design has been getting really creative for the past few years and I’m so glad. More and more artisanal and handmade tile is becoming more accessible and giving designers and homeowners so many options.

I really love when you can take a simple subway tile, use two colors and vertically stack them to make a statement like in this bathroom.

Here’s another way you can create a unique look  just using two color and making a pattern and the blue with pink is a cool combination.

DDS Tile – Stacked Blue & Pink Bathroom Tile

How about a mosaic red tile? I’ve never seen anything like this and it’s stunning.

Along with the artisanal theme, these tiles look like someone painstakingly painted these with watercolors and every one of them is different. So beautiful.

Studio Rens – Blue & Orange Abstract Tiles

I love how creative you can be with using a neutral tile and adding in pops of color like in this charcoal bathroom.

Fashion

I always lust after beautifully designed clothing and this month is no different. There’s a symbiotic relationship between interior design and fashion that I’m fascinated by and I love finding that relationship every season.

This patchwork jacket gave me the vapors the first time I saw it. As a quilter, the combination of wool, tweed, leather and jean material really speaks to me. I want it!

Pinterest – Patchwork Coat

Ever since the pandemic I’ve been addicted to slippers and I never was before. Hmmm. These purple, plaid and wool ones are on my wishlist.

Editorialist – Purple Plaid Slippers

Another jacket in the patchwork vein and it’s so stunning that I can’t even put into words how much I love this.

Lebeni Leather – Metallic Leather Puffer Jacket

It’s the Little Things

It really is the little things that give me pleasure and I’m a sucker for a trinket bowl, plate, cup, you name it. This one kind of looks like an avocado right? And it’s from my favorite source for unique things – Etsy.

Etsy – BLD Ceramics

So here’s my first list of the year and I want to know what you think of this list. Did anything catch your eye and would you like to share anything with me that you’ve been lusting after? Let me know in the comments.

See ya next time.
