Trends come and go, but I like to focus on the trends that become embedded in our culture for a period of time. This year I’ve focused on eight that are a combination of trends that have been here for a few seasons and some trends that I think will be timeless. If you missed Part 1 and the first four, here it is: The Best Interior Design Trends for 2025 – Part 1.
Now, let’s get into it.
Deep Reds/Purples
It’s fun to see the evolution of a trend and see what the thought processes are behind them. We started with the Barbie movie and pinks, which then transitioned into reds, then deep reds and now even deeper wine reds and purples. So this is a trend that’s been here for a few seasons and I see lasting the rest of this year at least..
Several paint companies went this route when they picked their Colors of the Year for 2025. Here are the previous blog posts with Deep Reds and Purples and what the paint companies are saying about each.
2025 Colors of the Year – Part 1 (Deep Reds)
2025 Colors of the Year – Part 2 (Purples)
These colors evoke black cherries, merlot, cabernet, oxblood, grapes. Burgundies and maroons used to get a bad rap as being out of style and too “grandma”, but they are both back in a really big way. They’re luscious colors that are perfect for a “dark and moody” room or just an accent to up your sophistication factor.
Kitchens
Check out these kitchens areas and you can see how these colors lends a certain elegance to these spaces especially if you pair it with brass.
Bathrooms
Deep reds and purples can be surprisingly versatile in the bathroom. From very whimsical to elegant, to even organic. Who knew?
Other Living Spaces
Use accents like with this door, furniture, curtains or even in an entryway.
Get The Look
It’s easy to get the look because it seems like everyone is jumping on the bandwagon of using these deep colors.

Biophilic
Biophilic design should be timeless and with sustainability and wellness taking center stage these past few years, it’s rightfully taking its place as a way of life. This design style increases mental health and wellness by using these properties:
- Gives you a connection to nature bringing the outside inside
- Think stone, wood (natural materials), large windows with sheer or no curtains
- Water features like aquariums and fountains
- Skylights and large windows with sheer or no curtains
- Neutral color palette with naturals materials like stone & wood
- Statement plants and aquariums for a sense of life
- Focuses on sustainability
Here’s the previous blog post I wrote on its beginnings and how to use this unique and beautiful style..

Living and Dining
See how these living and dining spaces use statement plants and even a tree inside! This is the ultimate way to bring the outdoors in. All of the materials are natural like wood, stone and leather.

Color Drenching & Double Drenching
Color Drenching is close to my heart. I love how it makes me feel when I enter a room and it’s all one color, even the ceiling. I painted my bedroom this way and even if it took an inordinate amount of time painting, it makes me feel like I’m in a cocoon. My previous blog post about color drenching is here: 2024 Interior Design Trends – Part 1 (Color Drenching)
Now there’s a new version to go along with color drenching and that’s double drenching. This trend is when you use 2 to 3 colors in a room that are different shades of the same color. It’s drenching but with a twist.
Color Drenched Living Spaces
The traditional way of color drenching takes these living spaces to a different level. And contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to only use dark colors. Some of these spaces use beige, peach and even light blue.
Color Drenched Bedrooms
Like I mentioned before, the bedroom is an ideal place to use color drenching and have that cozy feel. The first picture is my personal sitting area in my bedroom and I love it so much.
Double Drenched Living Spaces
Now here’s the new trend of double drenching. See how in the first picture, there are 3 shades of green used and the others either use two or three. It makes it even more interesting to look at and allows you to be more creative.
Double Drenched Bedrooms
In the bedroom, double drenching just adds a little something, as evidenced by the ones below.
Get the Look
You can get this look by using paint to get creative. Think trim, windowsills, doors, attic slanted walls, etc to blend different shades of the same color.
Statement Tile
Statement tile has been trending for a few years but this year, it’s getting ridiculous but in the best way!!!! Artisans are really getting in on the action and producing spectacular pieces that you can even mix and match. Etsy is a good place to find these artists, but every tile company is really upping their game.
Curves & Circles
Curves and circles have been trending in furniture design so why not tile? In response to this, penny tile is making a comeback even though I’ve always thought it was timeless.
Unique Cement
I love cement because it gives me an organic and industrial look, which I’m totally into. These days cement can come in all shapes and forms.
3D
3D tile is so cool and gives a lot of texture to a wall. Not only in bathrooms and kitchens, but you could use it for an accent wall as a piece of art. Fluted is still in but tile companies are now using a concave curve to tweak it a little like the last picture.
Art Deco
I feel that art deco is timeless, but there are some really fabulous art deco style tiles coming out that really modernize it and use metallics to kick it up another notch.
Randomly Placed
This trend really made me stop and take a moment. Random placement of tile might not be good for someone with OCD or someone who just likes things to be symmetrical, but I think it’s really interesting.
Get the Look
Just peruse any tile company and you’ll find spectacular tile. Even Home Depot, Lowes, Floor & Decor and even Wayfair have some stylish and affordable tiles. Etsy has the craftsmanship and high end companies of course have their designer tiles.
If you are into any of these trends, let me know in the comments and tell me what you’re not feeling. I hope you enjoyed my round up of what I think are the trends to look out for and as always, do you first and foremost. If you like it, it doesn’t matter if it’s on trend or not.
See ya next time!
