Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it the way January is just flying by. Now, I don’t usually get hyped up for Valentine’s Day because I think everyone should do nice things for the people they love all year long. But when I started thinking about what Valentine’s means, I concluded that for me it means putting your heart in a state of love and giving. So I’m going to love on myself this Valentine’s Day and the people around me.
If you’ve felt ambivalent about this holiday, like me, I’ve found some great fashion items for you to wear to get in the spirit. Whether you have a spouse, a special friend or you just want to spend time loving yourself, these items should definitely be on your shopping list.
Casual
If you just want to commemorate Valentine’s Day with a nod, take one item like a shirt and pair it with jeans, leggings or even sweats. It’s a fun way to celebrate. You could even just paint your nails like I showed in my previous blog post of Valentine’s Day Nails.
If you’re a t-shirt and jeans type of girl, check out this t-shirt. The black really makes the red hearts pop.
Do you remember these candies? I thought this was so cute.
Another long-sleeve t-shirt with hearts. I like it because it’s not so “in your face” Valentines.
A button down is always a good choice. This print dresses up your Valentine’s Day in a fun way.
This sweatshirt is giving me 70’s vibes and I’m here for it.
Another groovy sweatshirt.
I love cardigans and this one is so sweet with just one red heart.
A little more fashiony take on a Valentine’s Day sweater.
Sexy
So, if you plan on going out for Valentine’s Day, what is sexier than a dress? I love dresses because there’s only one piece to think about and it instantly looks put together. Add some heels and you’re set.
This sexy mini-dress will have your significant other swooning. If you’re not into that much leg, try some leggings underneath. Any way you do it, the cinch at the waist will make you feel oh so sexy.
I have several items in this plisse fabric and it feels like buttah on your skin. This wrap dress in a wine red is sexy without being overt.
Sweater dresses are like a two for one. It’s sexy and warm at the same time.
Elegant, but sexy too, this dress has all the right gathers and ruching to make you not feel guilty for eating all that chocolate.
Stay Inside
If you plan on having sexy time at home, why not try satin pajamas? They feel great against your skin, are comfortable and I think they are dressier than sweats. Try having a romantic picnic on the living room floor or if it’s just you, have a glass of wine while listening to jazz.
I love the pullover top on this set. No fooling around with buttons.
These fluffy velvet flats will have you feeling like you really made an effort.
These classic marabou kitten heels are sexy without being hard to walk in.
This wine red pajama set is so elegant for a night in.
Flat slippers with feathers will show off that pedicure correctly.
Just like the red ones, these kitten heels have just enough pizzazz.
Just for Fun
The next items are just because. Be creative and have fun with it. Nothing is off limits and you can celebrate the day however you want.
This sexy onesie lets you be cute and snuggly at the same time.
Here’s another onesie for a wintry area of the country. It will keep you extra warm.
I believe that leopard print is a neutral, do you? It goes especially well with red.
Take your standard slip-ons, add hearts and you’re set for Valentine’s Day.
Red roses on your socks? Yes please.
I have a pair of these in gold and at first I thought they were going to be too loud, but they’re so much fun.
So, whatever you do or don’t do for Valentine’s Day, remember to have a loving heart and maybe wear red. Haha I plan on doing just that. Let me know if you have any traditions on Valentine’s Day or if you’ve done anything unique and special to you.
See ya next time.
