These are not your Grandma’s or your Mama’s press on nails. Boy, have they come a long way. I used to look at them with disdain, because they never looked real, they would always pop off and it always seemed like a cop out to getting your nails done. But, I kept seeing influencers all over the Internet showing how they were doing press on nails themselves and they looked gorgeous. They even had every shape imaginable, designs, embellishments and everything you could want and only thought you could get at the Salon. Now, I don’t want to take away any business from the nail technicians, but if you don’t have the time or the money to go to the salon, trust me, this is a good option.
So I decided to order some and because I didn’t know how they would turn out, I just got a nude color in a simple almond shape. I tried them and I saw how good they looked. Now, a little tip. You have to make sure the nails go under your cuticles. That’s how you make them look natural and they always give you extra in several different sizes to find the ones that fit perfectly. They come with glue, but after a few popped off, a good friend told me to get NYK1 Nail Glue for Press-On Nails. I’m really hard on my nails since I do a lot of DIY projects so it was well worth it to get this glue.
When it’s time to change nails or wear your real nails, you just soak them in three inches of warm water and one good squirt of liquid dish soap for about 15 minutes and gently pry them off. Because you use warm water and dish soap to get them off, you can probably guess it’s not a good idea to wash dishes without gloves on. I had to learn that the hard way.
What’s good about these is that you can literally have a different nail style every week or more and they are so inexpensive as you’ll see with the Valentine’s Day options I’ve shown you below. Grab a cup of coffee and check out some of the cool press on nails available. I’m a total convert.
Nude
If you want to start off a little quiet, try these nude nails with sweet little white hearts.
The white hearts are taken up another notch with glitter lines added.
Adding hearts and crystals make these nude nails pop.
Try it With Pink
These pink ombre nails are what they call “jelly” style and have metallic hearts to go along with it.
I love how these are on matte nails.
These split nails with alternating hearts are so much fun.
Amazon Valentine’s Pink & Red Hearts – $6.98
Red
For the woman who just wants a great red nail, try this one with a glossy cat eye finish. Just enough glitz.
Why not paint them red except for one nail. I love the one nail with a heart french tip.
Now this set is so artistic.
Elegant matte nails are offset with the two decorated nails.
Amazon Valentine’s Hearts & Gold – $7.99
Funky & Unique
If you want to try something totally different, go with these graffiti themed nails. I just love these!
This Art Deco design is for the woman who wants to be totally different. It’s like art for your nails.
A Little Edgy
If you’re a little edgy, try black nails with hearts. Cool, right?
Another black and white set, but with the word love and silver glitter.
If you want really sexy nails, look at these. For a very special occasion, you’ll be feeling yourself.
Embellished
Now, if you really want to go all out, try some embellishments. Get creative and do a different design on every nail like these.
You can also just embellish just one nail like the rhinestonel heart below.
These will make you feel like the Queen of Hearts.
Design Your Own
Here’s another great option for you if you want to decorate your own nails. Here are some pearlized nude nails that would be a perfect base.
This beautiful french manicure would be a good base also.
If you don’t want a french tip nail, try these almond shaped nude nails.
Now for the fun part. Gold and silver abstract heart stickers. You can just go crazy with these.
Red Lips and hearts. What’s more Valentine’s Day than that.
If you want to spell it out, get these letters and tell your significant other how you feel.
Salon Inspiration
Now, if you’re not feeling the DIY type nails, you can always take these pictures to your nail technician and show her what to do. I have some more Pinteresting styles below that are awesome for Valentine’s Day.
This is so simple but so cute. Just a matte nude nail, with a gold line and red heart.
I call this the stacked heart french manicure. Get creative and pick different shades of red and/or pink.
How cute is this, with the word love on four fingers. I like it even better because it’s neutral and subtle.
Another set with Amor on them. I think words on nails might be my newest obsession.
Whether you do it yourself or take all of these pictures to the nail salon as inspiration, your digits will be looking oh so cute on Valentine’s Day. Even if you’re single and just plan on staying home, do something special for yourself and get your nails done.
I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at all of the Valentine’s Nail options. You should totally try the new press on nails. You’ll be so happy you tried them.
